Yesterday, Xiaomi officially released a gaming version of the Redmi K40. This smartphone is the first gaming smartphone from Redmi.
It packs a lot of gaming features which makes this device very attractive. The Redmi K40 gaming version comes with a Dimensity 1200 gaming chip as well as a huge 5065 mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.
Despite the huge battery, the device is only 8.3mm thick. Furthermore, as a gaming smartphone, it comes with an aerospace liquid-cooled three-dimensional heat dissipation system.
Despite all these features, the Redmi K40 gaming version has a 1999 yuan ($308)) starting price. To further enhance its gaming performance, this device uses a dual magnetic gaming trigger.
The first presale of this smartphone sold out swiftly. According to the pre-sale tracker, this device sold out within a few seconds. Now, Xiaomi believes that this gaming phone will set a new record in the market.
Furthermore, Lu Weibing believes that there are several reasons for the current chip shortages. According to him, the production of 5G chips is one of the problems.
He claims that the production capacity of 5G chips is about twice that of 4G chips. Also, the volume of 5G mobile phones is much faster than everyone’s forecast.
The second is the demand for smart cars and smart IoT devices. Smart cars consume a huge amount of chip production capacity. There may be millions of smart cars in the world this year.
The third is the coronavirus pandemic which caused a lot of people to stay at home. This has led to an increase in the demand for notebooks, TVs, Pads, cameras, and so on.
