Yesterday, Vivo unleashed a new member for its Vivo Y20 series in India. The Vivo Y20G joined a huge family made of six smartphones in total.
However, not everything flows around the Y20 series and the company needs to move to the next big thing. Today, the brand is introducing a new Vivo Y series smartphone in the form of Vivo Y31. Worth noting that the company is recycling the name as the first Vivo Y31 reached the market in 2015.
The Vivo Y31 flaunts a massive 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD with a waterdrop notch serving as a house for the 16MP selfie snapper. Under the hood, the phone brings the 11nm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC.
This is an Octa-Core chipset featuring 2.0GHz clock speeds and is being used massively in the mid-range segment. Some brands state that despite the lower number it is a better choice than the old Snapdragon 665. The device is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage.
Besides the selfie camera, the handset also brings a Triple-Camera combo in the back. The design will resemble the Vivo X50 Pro but the setup is not advanced as the gimbal-system-powered smartphone.
The Vivo Y31 (2021) is powered by the Snapdragon 662 SoC, runs Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11 on top, and comes with 6GB RAM. The smartphone has 128GB storage onboard, but it also comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion by up to 1TB.
According to the company, the macro sensor allows you to take pictures from as close as 4cm. Interestingly, the device comes with Ultra Stable Video recording thanks to an advanced Electronic Image Stabilization system.
The Vivo Y31 is available in India in the Racing Black and Ocean Blue colorways. The device retails at INR16,490 ($225 / €185). It is already available for purchase in India through the company’s online store, Amazon.in, Flipkart, Paytm, and other partner retail stores.
