Oppo is one of the most traditional Chinese smartphone makers with years of experience in the segment. However, the company finally “found its way” with the release of the Realme sub-brand. The venture allowed Oppo to learn with past mistakes and the company decided to diversify its smartphone offerings.
Under the hood, the have the Snapdragon 460 chipset. This chipset currently sits as the most powerful Snapdragon 4xx SoC and finally brings some Cortex-A73 power to the low-end category of Qualcomm chipsets. The Octa-Core chip is paired with 3GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. Just like the Oppo A53, the phone also flaunts a 6.5-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. Interestingly enough, this also is an HD+ panel and reinforces a current trend. Oppo is bringing high-refresh-rate displays to low-end HD panels and this is amazing.
According to GeekBench listing, the phone has at least one variant with 4GB of RAM. We assume that there will be other variants with more RAM. The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G will bring a Quad-Camera setup with a squircle alignment
The handset draws power from a 5,000mAh battery and we can expect at least 18W fast-charging. On the software front, the new smartphone will bring Android 10 OS with One UI skin running atop. The device may arrive in October and we assume that Samsung will be disclosing more details about building anticipation in the coming days.
